Advanced Gunsmithing II Recap: Building Gunsmithing Skills
I have finally finished my course. As I look back, it is unbelievable the amount of information I have learned and the knowledge I have gained. From start to finish whether you are an amateur with little knowledge or someone who has been around firearms on a regular basis, there is something in every lesson to learn for everyone.
I have had little experience with firearms over the years; most being passed by my father. After going through this course, I learned and realized how much more there was yet to know. Basics are good, but in-depth information is key along with a lot of common sense and the ability to listen and understand what is in front of you.
There are a lot of safety call outs in this course, pay attention and listen to them, it could turn into a very bad situation if you do not.
All in all, I have learned far more than I had expected to, that is not arrogance it is a truth that, coming into this course I thought I knew a little more than I did. As I am sure there are others who thought the same. Not saying I know everything now or ever will, but I do know there is still more to learn, and I look forward to one day advancing that further.
I do have a couple of suggestions. Some of the numbers in the diagrams throughout the lessons are a little blurry. Even with a magnifying glass they get worse, making them a little more clear to read. Not sure if you can add any other hands-on projects but, maybe a checkering project or adding swivels to the stock refinish project. Maybe even another homemade tool or a screw itself. I thought the soldering project was a good project even with it being something I am not really fond of doing. It taught me to be a little more patient. Maybe add another type of similar project to that.
I would recommend this course to those who are serious about this field.
I appreciate being given the ability to take this course and thank you for everything along the way.
