The ease of use with their online center and quick access to student services made my experience great. After sharing some knowledge gained from MGS halfway into the program, I was offered an assistant position at a local gun shop. This experience itself was something I would have never foreseen. Make time, Apply yourself, Your dream is possible."
"...I researched more about how to increase my knowledge of firearms, and MGS caught my eye since they are GI-Bill approved. I know that doing things hands-on is necessary to truly learn a skill, and I believe the gunsmithing projects required by MGS set them apart from the others. I figured it would be invaluable experience to finish a stock, silver solder with a torch, prep an object for bluing, and make my own tool; these are all things I had never done before. The projects were challenging, but if you take your time, follow their guidance, and do the work diligently, you will gain confidence and experience that is invaluable..."

I was able to secure an apprenticeship at a neighborhood gun shop, but figured I needed more information and a broader knowledge base...I was very pleased with the curriculum, and will be using exploded diagrams and other materials as reference material moving forward. I found the projects challenging and useful, and the tools provided by MGS will be very helpful in my future work. My overall experience with MGS was great, and I would recommend it to anybody wanting to get into the world of gunsmithing, or just expand their own knowledge for their personal gunsmithing...""...I never would have thought this was possible if it wasn't for MGS Trade School! The online student center is very easy to work with. I had zero issues trying to find what needed to be done to complete my school work. I give MGS a 10 out of 10! MGS is a school for anybody wanting to learn about guns, from people not knowing anything about firearms to skilled professionals. The info sent by MGS is worth its weight in gold and I will always have that to fall back on in a time of need. Thanks MGS staff for all that you have done to make this an enjoyable class. Now it's time for y'all to make an Advanced III class!"

I chose Modern Gun School (MGS) as it seemed to offer a balance between cost, a broad and detailed curriculum and flexibility of study from home that best fit my situation. All of the course work was detailed and informative. The projects provided opportunities to further develop existing skills within the realm of gunsmithing applications. I plan to pursue gunsmithing as a hobby / part-time business for now. My only regret is that I waited so long to study gunsmithing."“...I joined this program to learn more about the basics of gunsmithing and how I could incorporate that into our business. Unlike my husband, I didn’t have a vast knowledge of guns, how they work, or how to repair them so I started looking at how I could further my knowledge. I chose MGS advanced gunsmithing because it was a self paced program with hands on training and states it’s for beginners and that’s what needed.”
